Pathanamthitta: A FASTag-based parking system will be implemented at Nilakkal for parking facilities for Sabarimala pilgrims. ICICI Bank has taken the helm of toll collection management at Nilakkal. The inauguration of the toll gate is scheduled on 10th of this month.
The toll gate will be situated at the entrance of the Nilakkal parking areas. The toll rates are as follows: Rs 100 for buses, Rs 75 for mini-buses, Rs 50 for 4 to 14-seater vehicles, Rs 30 for 4-seater cars and jeeps, and Rs 15 for auto-rickshaws.
Parking for devotees’ vehicles in Pampa will not be available this time. This decision was taken during a ministerial meeting. The hilltop parking lot was collapsed during 2018 flood, has been renovated and, it has been decided not to open it for parking during this pilgrimage season.
