THIRISSUR: Kodi Suni, a high-security prisoner at Viyyur, has reportedly been attacked by jail officers, according to a complaint filed by his family. The relatives are demanding an investigation into the incident in which Kodi Suni, convicted in the TP Chandrasekharan murder case, was allegedly bound and had chili powder smeared on his eyes.
This incident is believed to be in retaliation for a clash that occurred on November 5 (Sunday) between two groups of prisoners at the prison. The police have filed a case against 10 individuals, including Suni.
As of now, Suni is receiving treatment at the Thrissur Medical College Hospital, following the police intervention that led to his admission to the hospital yesterday afternoon.
Although high-security prisons are typically intended for individuals accused in UAPA and other major cases, some convicts in high-profile cases like Kodi Suni have been transferred to such facilities, as per officials.
