Pathanamthitta: The Pathanamthitta police apprehended individuals engaged in dangerous stunts on the road using new gen bikes. These riders, hailing from Ranni, were caught near the junction close to the office of the Pathanamthitta district police chief. The police investigation revealed that these young riders had committed significant irregularities and traffic violations.

Upon arriving at the scene, the Pathanamthitta traffic police wasted no time in levying substantial fines on the offenders, amounting to a total of Rs 23,000. This penalty included a Rs 5,000 fine for driving a vehicle without a valid licence, Rs 1,000 for the absence of a sari guard, Rs 7,500 for obscuring the number plate with a mask, and an additional Rs 5,000 for operating a vehicle without a licence.

But the fines didn’t end with that. When the Motor Vehicle Department checked the bike’s registration, they found out that the owners had accumulated a remarkable Rs 17,500 in penalties for many violations. The individuals were informed that they should pay a total amount of Rs 40,500, in addition to the initial fines. Facing the large fine, the individuals gave the bikes to the police and left.
