Alappuzha: A complaint has been raised stating that the treatment for KG Prasad, a farmer who committed suicide in Kuttanad, was delayed, leading to serious allegations against Alappuzha Medical College. According to Prasad’s friends, he was initially taken to the medical college after he consumed poison. However, they claim that only a preliminary checkup was conducted, despite providing information about the poison consumed.

Reports reveal that the ICU at the medical college is non-functional due to a lack of beds, and Prasad was advised to be shifted urgently to a private hospital. Subsequently, he was transferred to a private hospital. Although Prasad was reportedly talking to his companions when he was brought to the private hospital in a worse health condition. Prasad’s friends said that, doctors at the private hospital indicated that Prasad’s life could have been saved if he had received proper treatment at Alappuzha Medical College.

Prasad, a farmer from Kuttanad, committed suicide due to financial distress. The suicide occurred earlier in the day. Prasad was serving as the district president of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh in Alappuzha.
