Thiruvananthapuram: The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, GR Anil, refrained from addressing media inquiries regarding the farmer’s suicide in Alappuzha. He stated that he would provide a response after obtaining more details and deliberately avoided engaging with the media. The minister reiterated that the farmer should not be held responsible for repaying the PRS loan. Furthermore, he suggested that the farmer’s suicide might be linked to other issues.
Meanwhile, the minister told the media that the common man would not be adversely affected, despite the state grappling with significant price hikes. Anil justified this stance by asserting that the financial strain has impacted all sectors but emphasised that there have been no defaults in loan repayments.
