Thrissur: A complaint has been raised regarding a prayer ceremony held at the District Child Welfare Office with the intent of expelling negative energy. The District Collector has responded by ordering a thorough investigation into the matter and assigning the sub-collector to oversee the inquiry. The complaint was raised against the District Child Protection Officer for the incident.
The complaint alleges that prayers were conducted to eliminate negative energy within the collectorate office. The ceremony was reportedly led by an individual who brought along both a Cross and a Bible.
Notably, all employees, excluding officers, are employed on a contractual basis at the District Child Welfare Office. Workers from Child Line, including contract staff, were allegedly compelled to participate in the prayer. The individual who led the prayer has been identified as one of the Child Line workers.
The incident took place a few weeks ago, and the childcare officer purportedly instructed all staff in the office to attend the prayer session.
