Kozhikode: The owner of a private firm, identified as Jaffer, has been arrested by the police following a complaint that he physically assaulted a 34-year-old salesgirl employed at his organisation, Royal Marbles, in Perambra. The arrest was made on the grounds of allegations that Jaffer had locked the salesgirl inside a house and subjected her to physical violence.
According to police statements, the root cause of the quarrel was financial transactions related to the business. A verbal dispute ensued, leading to the physical assault on the salesgirl. The injured salesgirl has been admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for necessary medical treatment.
