Thiruvananthapuram: Ration distribution in the state faced a sudden interruption today as the electronic Point of Sale (e-POS) machine faced a malfunction. This marks a recurring issue, as a similar disruption occurred in recent days.
The technical glitch in the e-POS machine, identified today as a network error, led to the halt in ration distribution in the morning hours. Ration shops, typically open every morning, had to close at 12 pm, only to reopen after 4 pm. Shopkeepers explained that due to the morning disruption, ration distribution would resume in the evening.
The Food Minister’s office assured that efforts are underway to promptly resolve the technical issues, emphasizing that the distribution will resume smoothly once the e-POS machine is back in operation.
