Pathanamthitta: An explosion occurred at the oxygen plant in Kozhencherry’s district hospital around 8:30 on Monday morning. Preliminary findings suggest that an electrical failure may be the root cause of the incident, which resulted in the complete destruction of the plant. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
The explosion involved a 1000-litre volume cylinder, one of two cylinders at the facility (the other being 300 liters). Emergency response officers swiftly reached the scene to conduct thorough inspections.
Reacting to the incident, Health Minister Veena George has instructed the principal secretary of the Health Department to initiate a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Minister George emphasized that technical experts will also be involved in scrutinising the details of the accident.
