Thiruvananthapuram: Film-serial actress Gayathri has spoken out, stating that the news circulating against the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Pinarayi government is mere propaganda. She defends the government’s approach, particularly in the context of media reports criticising the use of a bus by the Chief Minister and ministers. She claims that the leaders opt for bus travel to avoid causing traffic blocks and that they endure physical discomfort, including back pain, during the journeys.
Gayathri expressed, “When the former CPI(M) state secretary, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son, was found innocent after spending months in jail, there was no media coverage. But if someone goes to his house to search, suddenly it becomes news. The Chief Minister and the Ministers are making appearances on the streets, disregarding their health, family situation, or personal circumstances. They are reaching the public, stating that power is in the hands of the people.
Ministers are travelling without considering their health, clinging to a single bus and enduring backaches, all to ensure there are no roadblocks when the ministers, their escort vehicles, and officers travel. What sensational stories is the media fabricating about that bus? This is propaganda news. If the news is going against the left wing and against humanity, it’s because corporates are paying for it,” said Gayathri.
