THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Gold prices hit a record high today. Once again, gold prices in Kerala witnessed an increase, rising by Rs 320 for one sovereign and Rs 40 for one gram.
Thereby, the market price for 22ct gold stands at Rs 5,885 for 1 gram, and 1 sovereign is now valued at Rs 47,080 in Kerala.
At the same time, there was a slight decrease in the price of silver, with one gram of silver now costing Rs 84, while hallmarked silver is priced at Rs 103.
Analysts attribute the price fluctuation in the international market and expectations of an increase in jewelry demand during the peak wedding season as factors propelling the surge in gold prices.
