THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Due to the cancellation of trains to Chennai amid Cyclone Michaung, the Executive Director of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) issued a circular to organize special buses from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai.
Two trains scheduled from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station to Chennai were canceled today. Train numbers 12624 (scheduled at 3 pm from Thiruvananthapuram) and 12696 (scheduled at 5.15 pm from Thiruvananthapuram) to Chennai Central railway station were affected.
Responding to this situation, the KSRTC Southern Zone Executive Director released a circular to facilitate special inter-state bus services for passengers traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai.
To enable these special temporary inter-state services, KSRTC Cluster Officers in Thiruvananthapuram have been instructed to obtain route permissions from the Chief Traffic Officers of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Chennai and neighboring districts have been experiencing heavy rains since Sunday, December 3, 2023, persisting into Monday due to the impact of Cyclone Michaung.
