Kollam: All three suspects involved in the abduction of a six-year-old girl in Oyoor are currently under the custody of the Crime Branch. They were produced in court today. Responding to the investigation team’s plea, the court sanctioned custody of the accused individuals, Padmakumar, his wife Anitha Kumari, and their daughter Anupama, natives of Chathannoor.
The investigation team sought seven-day custody to gather evidence, including from locations in Tamil Nadu. However, the defence has objected to the extended duration requested for custody. The defence has revealed that the child was kept in a house in Chathannoor, merely a 20-minute drive from Kottarakkara. The vehicle used in the abduction is also located in Chathannoor. Except for the clothes worn by the accused individuals, the investigating team possesses all evidence. The defence has questioned the requirement for the seven days of custody.
After their release into custody, the accused will undergo medical examinations at Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital. then they will be taken to the Crime Branch office. Detailed interrogations are anticipated to take place today and tomorrow at the office, followed by an examination of evidence tomorrow evening.
