Thiruvananthapuram: In response to the recent attack on the Governor, CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan has come forward to defend the Students’ Federation of India (SFI). Govindan contends that the Governor’s statements and actions are unconstitutional, and SFI’s protest against the Governor will continue. He denies that SFI activists resorted to protesting by obstructing the Governor’s vehicle.
The Governor claimed that this incident marked the fifth attack by SFI activists, alleging a targeted campaign against him. The Governor contends that the state government, with the assistance of the police, has orchestrated attacks against him. Adding gravity to the situation, it has been revealed that high-ranking police officials leaked state intelligence reports to SFI workers.
According to the Governor, the attackers were transported in a police vehicle, and he pointed fingers at the Chief Minister, alleging that the conspiracy against him was led by the state’s highest executive authority.
