Ernakulam: The High Court is set to re-consider the voluntary case related to crowd control at Sabarimala today. This reconsideration will follow an evaluation of the current situation and existing security measures at Sabarimala. The court will scrutinise the details regarding parking facilities at Nilakkal.

The High Court emphasised the need for ensuring convenient darshan (auspicious sight of a deity) arrangements for all devotees visiting Sabarimala. The court also stated the provision of essential facilities in cases of potential delays lasting hours. It directed the district administration and Devaswom Board to organise alternative parking arrangements in the event of congestion at Nilakkal, urging them to engage volunteers for assistance.

The High Court suggested involving NSS-NCC volunteers if the need arises and seeking their assistance in managing crowds effectively. It directed the maintenance of cleanliness in queue complexes. The Assistant Director General of Police (ADGP) informed the High Court about the parking situation at Nilakkal and the crowded conditions at Sabaripeedam and Appachimedu.
