Thiruvananthapuram: People who take new electricity connections in Kerala may face a hike in price as the Electricity Board has put forth a request for a hike ranging from 10 percent to 60 percent. The demand, submitted to the Regulatory Commission, aims to increase rates for connection provision, post-installation, and line installation.
Meanwhile, the Electricity Board has proposed a uniform rate for new connections across Kerala, calculated on a kilowatt basis. The Regulatory Commission has requested additional details on this aspect.
In addition to these proposals, the Electricity Board has also requested for the imposition of registration fees and other charges for the establishment of new Rooftop solar plants.
