THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy (KSCA) members have submitted a letter to the government, demanding the removal of director Ranjith from the post of Chairman.
Subsequently, the General Council Members of the KSCA convened a parallel meeting at the General Council Hall of Tagore Theatre, the main venue of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). Nine out of the total 15 members attended this meeting.
Members including N Arun, Cuckoo Parameswaran (Kukku Parameshwar), Manoj Kana, Joby, and Muhammed Kunju (Mummy Century) attended the meeting, which lasted for around 1 hour.
In the letter, KSCA members raised several allegations against Chairman Ranjith, citing his authoritarian approach and making decisions without consulting other members. Last week, in an interview with the media, Ranjith insulted popular Malayalam director Dr. Biju and his movies, sparking several controversies.
