Kollam: Manjumol, the accused in the brutal assault case against her 80-year-old mother-in-law, has been remanded for 14 days as her bail application was rejected by the court. As per the court’s directive, Manjumol has been transferred to the Women’s jail in Attakulangara, Thiruvananthapuram.
Manjumol, in her bail plea, cited the need to care for her children as a reason for seeking release. However, the court dismissed her application. Earlier a disturbing footage capturing the assault on the 80-year-old Eliamma in Thevalakkara, Kollam has led to widespread public outcry. This prompted a significant protest and subsequent police intervention. The accused was apprehended and presented in court this afternoon, where the bail plea was also submitted.
