Thiruvananthapuram: Higher education in Kerala is deteriorating to a great margin due to excessive politicization and policy defects. Students are migrating to other countries for higher education and employment. It has become necessary for the general public to defend themselves against this trend. The announcement that Kerala will be transformed into a knowledge economy, remains only in words. Even the objectives set out by the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) are being distorted. In light of this, prominent people including education experts and former vice chancellors gathered in the capital city for a conclave. The talk which was on the contemporary challenges and policies in higher education in Kerala saw a good number of audiences.
The gathering was presided over by Dr Malini PM, former Principal, NSS Training College, Pandalam.
