Thiruvananthapuram: Five KSRTC employees have been suspended due to issues related to their work. The Executive Director (Vigilance) has suspended two drivers subject to investigation and three conductors for negligence and irregularity in work.
Those suspended include AU Uthaman, driver of Payyannur depot; J Surendran, driver of Vellanad depot; A Tony, conductor of Thamarassery depot; PS Abhilash, conductor from Thiruvananthapuram city depot; and PM Muhammad Saleh, conductor from Palakkad depot.
AU Uthaman was suspended for driving a private school bus without going for Sabarimala duty. Surendran was suspended due to involvement in a criminal case. A. Tony faced suspension for extorting money by operating a bus service using a manual rack. PS Abhilash was suspended for collecting fares from four people during the Kochuveli – Eastfort service but issuing tickets to only two. PM Muhammad Saleh was suspended for allowing a passenger to travel for free on the Coimbatore-Kothamangalam service without issuing a ticket.
