Thiruvananthapuram: Maria Goretti has assumed the role of the first woman loco pilot for the Vande Bharat Express. Following rigorous training to operate the Vandebharat train, Maria has officially taken charge of the Thiruvananthapuram division, marking a significant milestone in her 25-year career with the railways.
Residing with her family in Varapuzha, Ernakulam district, Maria Goretti is married to Paul Tomy Pavanathara, a retired Air Force personnel currently serving in the state government sector. Among her family members are Isha Paul, a first-year MBBS student, and Irin Paul, who is currently undergoing training to become an aircraft pilot.
