New Delhi: A day after Delhi Police received a call about a ‘blast’ being heard near the Israel Embassy, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken charge of the investigation. A joint team comprising NIA officials, the Delhi Special Cell, and the Dog Squad arrived at the Israeli Embassy on Wednesday morning to initate a probe into the alleged ‘blast’ incident.
While scrutinizing CCTV footage, Delhi Police has identified two individuals as ‘suspects’ in connection with the alleged ‘blast’ incident near the Israel Embassy. However, officials have not yet confirmed their involvement, as per sources. The two individuals were reportedly seen near the Israel Embassy on Tuesday evening, raising suspicions in relation to the incident.
On Tuesday, Delhi Police received a call reporting a ‘blast’ near the Israel Embassy in the Chanakyapuri area. Responding promptly, the Delhi Police crime unit, along with fire services and the bomb disposal squad, reached the scene. Additionally, experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were dispatched to investigate. Despite the extensive efforts, officials confirmed that no evidence of an actual blast was found at the reported location. The call was received by the Delhi Fire Services at about 6 pm.
