KOZHIKODE: As cities gear up to celebrate the New Year, stringent regulations have been enforced across major cities in Kerala. Traffic Assistant Commissioner AJ Johnson has announced strict controls implemented in Kozhikode city since today afternoon.
Goods vehicles are banned from entering the city, while passenger vehicles are directed to park outside the city limits. A ban on entry of vehicles and parking at Kozhikode beach is effective from 3 pm today. Violations of parking regulations will result in penalties and vehicle seizure.
Stringent action will be taken against instances of rash driving posing threats to public safety, including suspension of driving licenses for violators.
Ten Sub-Inspectors have been assigned to conduct inspections in various parts of Kozhikode city. The Traffic Assistant Commissioner urges the public to cooperate with these regulations for a smooth celebration.
