Kollam: The 62nd State School Arts Festival kicked off with fervour on its first day, witnessing intense competition among students. As the curtains closed on the inaugural day, Kozhikode claimed the top spot in points, with Thrissur and Kannur securing the second position.
Entering its second day today, the arts festival is set to showcase popular performances across 60 competitions, with the Ashramam Ground being the main venue. This five-day arts festival aims to highlight the talents of 14,000 students participating in 239 disciplines within high school and higher secondary categories. The events are spread across 24 venues, with Ashramam Ground named as the main venue.
The Arts Festival will conclude on January 8, with actor Mammootty as the chief guest for the closing ceremony. The inauguration of the closing ceremony will be done by the Leader of Opposition, V. D. Satheesan, and the event will be presided over by Minister KN Balagopal. Minister V. Sivankutty will extend honours to the high-achieving students at various events.
