Kochi: The State Secretary of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) faces suspension following allegations of financial fraud within the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). The investigation has led to the suspension of Perumbavoor Depot Special Assistant, Sajith Kumar, as the details of the fraud were uncovered during a Vigilance probe.

The incident, which dates back to 2022, revolves around Sajith Kumar’s actions while stationed at the Ernakulam district office. During a visit to the Muvattupuzha unit, he reportedly wrote a three-month rent receipt for a stall. Notably, Sajith Kumar was stationed elsewhere at the time, prompting concerns when he arrived at the unit with the stall’s licensee to draft the receipt.

This apparent breach of protocol raised serious disciplinary concerns, particularly as employees are generally not permitted to issue cash receipts for offices other than their own. Subsequently, the suspension was imposed following the Vigilance investigation, which revealed a violation of established rules in the matter.
