Farmer commits suicide in Kannur due to financial struggles

Kannur: The distressing trend of farmer suicides continues in the state as Jose (63), a resident of Pathanpara in Naduvil, took his own life by hanging. The farmer committed suicide due to mounting debts resulting from losses in banana cultivation. The financial burden, coupled with the inability to repay loans from individuals and self-help groups, led to the farmer’s suicide. Jose was discovered hanging at home in the morning, and despite being rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved.
