Kozhikode: MS Mathew, the second accused in the Koodathayi serial murder case, has submitted a petition against Netflix, claiming that the streaming platform is spreading misinformation about the ongoing case. The petition urges authorities to take action to prevent the dissemination of inaccurate details through online media and Netflix.
The court is set to hear the case and the prosecution’s response on the 29th. Additionally, the first accused, Jolly, has submitted a petition seeking bail for medical treatment, which will also be considered on the same date. Other cases related to the Koodathayi murder series are slated for discussion during the hearing.
Netflix released a documentary titled “Curry & Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case” on December 22, based on the Koodathayi case. The documentary features actual footage and interviews with witnesses involved in the case. Mathew’s plea comes amidst the ongoing streaming of the documentary in Malayalam, Hindi, English, and Tamil.
