Thrissur: A complaint has surfaced regarding the illegal construction of a convention centre in violation of the Wetland Conservation Act. Located in a field in Chelakkara Panchayat, Thrissur, the convention centre was built without the necessary construction permissions and permits. Notably, this Panchayat is governed by the LDF (Left Democratic Front).
Despite the completion of the convention centre and the hosting of two wedding events, the Panchayat has yet to take decisive action against the unauthorized construction. The convention centre, constructed by filling a farmland without proper authorization, is located just a hundred meters away from the office of Minister K Radhakrishnan.
