Kollam: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) arrested a driver for operating a school bus without a driving license. The enforcement team from the Kollam Regional Transport Office (RTO) caught a van driver of a private pre-primary school in Velichikala, Kollam. The RTO revealed that the driver lacked the necessary driving license, and the vehicle tax had not been paid.
The incident unfolded during the inspection of school buses across the district as part of National Road Safety Week, observed from January 11 to 17. The Kollam RTO enforcement team, during their checks, discovered the unauthorised operation of the school bus and took immediate action.
Following the arrest, MVD officials ensured the safe transportation of students to their homes.
