Thrissur : Guruvayur temple has reported a substantial income exceeding Rs. 6 crore, as temple offering, for the month of January. The counting of the temple’s offering for the month has recently concluded, revealing a total income of Rs. 6, 13,00,8091, along with the recovery of 2 kg, 415 g, and 600 mg of gold.
The temple authorities have successfully retrieved 13 kg and 340 grams of silver during this period. Notably, the counting process also revealed the presence of 45 notes of Rs 2,000, 40 banned Rs 1,000 notes, and 153 notes of Rs 500. The Union Bank of India’s Guruvayur branch took responsibility for the counting of these notes.
Adding to the financial report, the temple also received digital transactions, with the e-offering ( paid through QR code) recording revenue of Rs. 2.07 lakh. This electronic transaction, facilitated through the State Bank of India’s e-hundi system place in kizhakke nada ( the east entrance of Guruvayur temple) , stands as an additional income stream alongside conventional hundi earnings.
