Palakkad: The Bhoorekha Tehsildar, P Sudhakaran, who was arrested in a bribery case, has been suspended from his position. The Palakkad District Collector issued an order for the suspension in light of the ongoing investigation.
Sudhakaran was apprehended by Vigilance while accepting a bribe from a local mall owner, amounting to Rs 50,000. The Vigilance team caught him red-handed last Saturday during the attempted bribery transaction. Sudhakaran also held the additional charge of Tehsildar in Palakkad. Officials from the Vigilance department revealed that there have been multiple complaints against the Tehsildar in the past.
