Kollam: The investigation into the suicide case of Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Aneeshya S of the Munsiff Magistrate Court in Paravur, Kollam, has been handed over to the Crime Branch. Kochi City Police Commissioner A. Akbar issued an order in this regard.
The Bar Association alleges that a colleague and a superior officer of Aneeshya were involved in her suicide. It is urged that these alleged culprits should be excluded from the investigation team.
The Bar Association has also called for a detailed inquiry by the Director General of Prosecution and a report into the death of Aneeshya, which should be submitted within two weeks. The Kollam Bar Association has further demanded the suspension of the accused superiors suspected in the crime.
Earlier, an audio voice message from Aneeshya, sent to her friends via WhatsApp, revealed that she could not bear the mental torture from her superiors and colleagues. According to the voice message, she was humiliated by her superiors through the public disclosure of confidential reports and ill-treatment. The voice message also indicates that she was unable to cope with the mental stress and contemplated taking her own life.
According to reports, Aneeshya was found dead by hanging in the bathroom of her house on January 21st around 11:30 am. Having worked as an Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) for the past nine years, Aneeshya, according to her family, experienced increasing stress as she was singled out by her higher officials and colleagues.
