Thiruvananthapuram: Binoy Viswam, Member of Parliament from CPI, is calling for a rollback of increased charges for Hajj pilgrims departing from the Malabar region. In a letter addressed to Union Minority Affairs Minister Smriti Irani, Binoy Viswam emphasized the concerns surrounding the escalated fees that pilgrims departing from Kozhikode airport may have to bear.
Over the years, Kozhikode airport has been a key embarkation point for thousands of Muslim pilgrims undertaking the Hajj journey. However, recent developments indicate a surge in charges for pilgrims departing from this airport.
Binoy Viswam’s letter urges immediate intervention from the Union Minister to rectify the situation, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that Hajj charges are applied fairly and justly.
