Kannur: The Bengaluru-Kannur Express, which currently operates from Kannur to Bengaluru via Mangaluru, is set to extend its service to Kozhikode. The decision was made based on the assessment that passengers in need of the service on the Kozhikode-Bengaluru route will experience relief.

Currently, the train originating from Bengaluru will depart at 9:35 p.m. and reach Kozhikode at 12:40 p.m. the following day via Kannur. The return journey commences at 3:30 p.m., with the train reaching Bengaluru at 6:35 a.m.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament MK Raghavan has confirmed that efforts are underway to extend the Goa-Mangalore Vande Bharat to Kozhikode, further expanding the rail network in the region.
