Vigilance’s lightning raid at Palakkad Sub-Registrar office; unaccounted money seized

Palakkad: Lightning inspection by Vigilance at Alathur Sub-Registrar Office in Palakkad resulted in the seizure of Rs 9,400 unaccounted money. The vigilance team conducted an inspection at the Sub-Registrar office, following a tip-off that officials were receiving bribes for title deed registration.

Rs 3,200 was found in the possession of Sub-Registrar Biju, Rs 3,100 in the possession of Head Clerk Sunil Kumar, and Rs 3,100 was found in the possession of Office Assistant Babu. The money was hidden in the office’s record room. The Vigilance team intercepted them while attempting to remove the money. Vigilance stated that departmental action will be taken against the employees caught in corruption.
