Abu Dhabi: This week’s Abu Dhabi Weekly Draw Big Ticket saw a Malayali emerge as the winner. Rajeev Arikkatt, a 40-year-old UAE resident, clinched the UAE jackpot worth Rs 33 crore. Rajeev, who has been residing in Al-Ain with his family for the past 10 years, expressed shock at unexpectedly winning 15 million dirhams.
An employee at an architectural company, Rajeev has two children aged five and eight. He purchased the winning ticket using their birth date, which added to his joy.
“I’ve been regularly participating in the big ticket draws for the past three years, but this is my first win. My wife and I chose the ticket this time, selecting numbers 7 and 13, which correspond to our children’s birth dates. Taking advantage of the offer, we bought two tickets and received four more for free,” Rajeev explained.
He said that the unexpected win will be shared among 19 people, including Rajeev’s fellow regular ticket buyers, who come from modest backgrounds with monthly incomes ranging from Rs 22,000 to Rs 33,000. Rajeev emphasized his desire to share his unexpected success with everyone.
