Mananthavady: BJP National Executive Committee member PK Krishnadas paid a visit to the home of Ajeesh, a victim of wild elephant attack in Padamala, Mananthavady. Following this, Krishnadas held discussions with Bishop Jose Porunnedam, the Bishop of Mananthavady Diocese. During their meeting, Bishop Porunnedam highlighted pressing issues requiring the attention of the central government.
Specifically, the Bishop urged the central government to promptly amend the Forest Act to address the concerns of hillside farmers who are grappling with the menace of wild animal attacks. A petition containing eleven pertinent suggestions regarding this matter was handed over to PK Krishnadas for further consideration.
Additionally, the Bishop emphasized the necessity of exploring alternative road possibilities as part of Wayanad’s infrastructure development. He underscored the need for policy changes within the Ministry of Forests and Environment that obstructs the construction of parallel roads and fulfilling the aspirations of the Wayanad community.
