Ernakulam : The Kerala High Court has directed the former Finance Minister of the State, Dr. Thomas Isaac, and the KIIFB CEO to comply with the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Masala Bond case. The court stated that the matter could be investigated without the need for arrest. Justice Devan Ramachandran’s order was issued while considering the petition filed by Isaac and KIIFB against the ED summons.
Justice Ramachandran emphasized that they must cooperate with the summons, ensuring that there won’t be any arrest or intimidation. He stressed that there should be no shame in complying with the summons, as it was issued to uncover the truth. He further mentioned that the ED had clarified that this is merely a preliminary investigation and that the questioning would be recorded on video. The court made these remarks before adjourning the case hearing to February 19th.
