New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has mandated the appointment of Ombudsman in universities to address and resolve the various challenges faced by students. Universities across the nation have been instructed to expedite the appointment process.
Through this newly appointed Ombudsman will serve as a platform for students to report complaints related to admission irregularities, dissemination of incorrect information, withholding of documents, and evaluation-related grievances. This move aims to provide students with a designated channel to seek redressal for their concerns. According to UGC data, over 700 universities have already appointed Ombudsman, demonstrating a proactive response to the commission’s directive.
