Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning indicating a further increase in temperatures across Kerala. In a notification issued this afternoon, a yellow alert has been declared for 10 districts.

From February 27 to 29, Kollam and Kottayam districts are expected to experience maximum temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius. Additionally, temperatures may soar to 37 degrees Celsius in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, and Ernakulam districts, as per the warning.

IMD forecasts suggest that Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts could witness maximum temperatures of up to 36 degrees Celsius, marking an increase of 2-4 degrees Celsius compared to normal levels. The advisory was issued today at 02:30 PM on February 27, 2024.

High temperatures combined with humid conditions may lead to discomfort and unsettled weather in the aforementioned districts, excluding hilly areas, from February 27 to 29. IMD also assured that there is no disruption expected to fishing activities along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts.
