Thiruvananthapuram: District Sessions Court today rejected the bail pleas of two culprits in the attempt of murder case in University College campus. First and second accused R Sivaranjith and A N Nazeer had submitted their pleas in Thiruvananthapuram Sessions Court.
The court also dismissed the bail pleas of two other accused, Adil and Adwaith. Both had requested for bail so as to collect hall tickets for the upcoming exams. The students, in their bail plea request, tried to justify the incident as a normal strife in the college.
Akhil, a third year Degree Political Science student and an SFI activist, was stabbed on July 12 in University College campus by some SFI students. Police nabbed the culprits and recovered knife used for stabbing Akhil from the college.
Akhil’s recorded statement revealed that a twenty member team, led by Sivaranjith and Nazeem had attacked and stabbed him. Police search for the other culprits is underway.
