Thiruvananthapuram: A woman and her child were killed after being hit by a train in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 12:30 pm. The identities of the deceased have not yet been ascertained.
According to the police, they were killed after being hit by a MEMU train operating from Kollam to Thiruvananthapuram. The police reported that the woman appeared to be approximately 25 years old, while the child appeared to be around 5 years old.
The child’s name, recorded in a book, is listed as Mithun. The cause of the accident remains unclear. The police have stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
