Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala government employees have not received their salaries for February for the second consecutive day,, with reports indicating that the delay will continue into the third day due to a holiday. This delay has affected over three and a half lakh government employees’.
Despite assurances from the government, employees remain uncertain about when they will receive their salaries. The Finance Minister attributed the delay to a technical glitch but did not provide further details on the issue.
Compounding the situation, some employees have reported receiving notifications of salary disbursements in their Employee Treasury Savings Bank accounts, but they found their accounts frozen and couldn’t withdraw the money. Meanwhile, Ministers and other employees who are paid through personal accounts have received their salaries without delay.
Though the finance minister has informed that the money will reach the Treasury on Monday and the salary will be credited on that day itself, there are indications that it may be delayed further.
