Thiruvananthapuram: The Chirayinkeezhu railway station is poised for a transformative makeover as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Amrit Bharat scheme. Development initiatives totaling Rs 12 crore are underway to enhance the infrastructure of the station.
Currently, the first phase of renovation, valued at Rs 4 crore, is in progress, with plans for phased completion. One notable aspect of the project includes the establishment of a new entrance facing the service road adjacent to the station. Additionally, construction is ongoing for a parking yard and entrance facilities.
Covering a three-acre area adjacent to the station, the development project primarily focuses on upgrading the station building and enhancing parking facilities. The aim is to accommodate parking for over 100 vehicles, catering to both regular and large vehicles, thereby improving overall accessibility and convenience for commuters.
