Ernakulam: On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, Kochi Metro has announced an extension of its service hours to accommodate devotees and commuters alike. The extended service will be particularly convenient for those attending Bali Tharpanam at Aluva manappuram.
(Bali Tharpanam is a way to offer food to dead ancestors.)
Metro services will be operational until 11:30 PM on March 8th and 9th, catering to passengers from Aluva and Tripunithura terminals. From 10:30 p.m. onwards, metro will run at 30-minute intervals. On March 9th, services will commence at 4:30 AM, with trains running at every 30-minute interval until 6 AM.
This extended service will not only benefit devotees visiting Aluva Mahadeva Temple but also candidates appearing for the UPSC examination held on the same day.
