Bengaluru: The security at the Ram Temple in Nipani, Belagavi district, Karnataka, has been tightened after the temple management discovered two letters containing threats to blow up the temple. The threatening letters, written in Hindi and bearing the phrase ‘Allahu Akbar’, were found inside the temple premises on February 7 and 28.
The first letter was discovered within the Rama temple, while the second letter was found in the nearby Hanuman temple. One of the letters mentioned plans for an attack on the temple on March 20 and 21.
The temple administration reported the matter to the Nipani Shahar Police, leading to heightened security measures. In response to the threat, as many as 14 CCTV cameras were installed on the temple premises.
