Palakkad: A drug peddling suspect was found hanging inside the lockup in Palakkad. The deceased has been identified as Shojo John, a native of Idukki. The incident took place at the Palakkad Excise Tower lockup. Excise authorities caught Shojo with two kilos of hashish oil last night. The body is currently in the district hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, the family alleges that the incident is mysterious. His wife, Jyothi, clarified that Shojo was not involved in such crimes before and that he would not commit suicide. Jyothi said that it was suspected that he had been taken into custody and beaten, and that one would not commit suicide in one night like that. She also asked how someone could commit suicide in an office with officers under their watch.
