Ernakulam: The Kerala government has dismissed 13 temporary employees of the Kerala State Housing Board( KSHB) for filing a complaint in the Nava Kerala Sadas program. These employees, who were working for a mere Rs. 300, had voiced their demand for an increase in wages through their complaint. The workers allege that their dismissal was a direct consequence of their decision to file the complaint in the program.
The initial retaliatory measure by the board was a reduction in the monthly salary from Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 7,000. Subsequently, the decision was made to terminate the contracts of these employees without renewal. In response, the affected employees have initiated strong protests against these actions.
Notably, the left-wing trade union All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) is spearheading the protest against the government’s retaliatory measures, standing in solidarity with the affected workers.
