Ernakulam: Fans’ favourite coach, Ivan Vukomanovic, will bid farewell to Kerala Blasters at the end of this season. The news was released by IFT Media. Vukomanovic is said to have offers from Europe. However, he has made it clear that he will not coach any other team in Bharat except for the Kerala Blasters.
Reports also suggest that the Blasters management is considering two managers from other Indian Super League (ISL) teams as potential replacements. While preliminary discussions have taken place, the names of these managers remain undisclosed.
During his tenure, the Kerala Blasters have shown their skills, meeting the expectations of the club’s fans. Kerala Blasters have won nine matches, drawn two, and lost seven this season under the coaching of Ivan. However, recent form has been disappointing; with the team losing four of their last five matches.
Vukomanovic’s coaching style has been credited with the improved performances of several players, making him a fan-backed coach. Notably, under Vukomanovic’s guidance, the Kerala Blasters reached the finals in the first season of his tenure.
Earlier, Ivan Vukomanovic had positive news to share about their player, Adrian Luna, as he recovers from the injury that has kept him sidelined for the last few months. He said that there is a chance of Luna coming back on March 15th. Ivan further noted that Luna will start his sessions with the medical staff by the end of April, and we will see him fully back with the team.
