Thiruvananthapuram: The process of mustering priority category ration cards in the state is set to resume today following a recent halt. Notably, yellow card holders will now be able to purchase rice at ration shops alongside the mustering process.
Minister GR Anil has proposed that pink card holders should also be accommodated for mustering in emergency situations. The mustering date for pink card holders will be announced tomorrow. However, the minister clarified that there will be no rice distribution to other card holders today and tomorrow. According to the Food Department, a total of 1,76,408 people underwent mustering procedures last day.
Earlier, directives were issued to refrain from rice distribution on the day of mustering. Minister Anil attributed server issues during mustering to the distribution of rice by some ration shop traders. Mustering activities will be exclusively conducted today and tomorrow for yellow card holders, while the date for mustering pink card holders will be communicated subsequently.
